Remember, Remember the Sales of November

Black Friday is a few days behind us and the dust has started to settle. We must assert that our clients did great, so we did great. Payment service providers like Twispay seldom get to take any credit for their clients' achievements, and we know we merely had a supportive role in their success this November, so, obviously, we are not here to brag, not exclusively.

We are officially starting a Twispay tradition that will bring some of our company's and our clients' successes out in the open, without, of course, ever breaching their trust. #GDPR. Every year, at the start of December, as Twispay expands its portfolio, we are going to crunch some of our most relevant data and show you how this November looks from within Twispay, compared to the previous November.

Hopefully, our brief data-crunching excapade will also bring a few valuable insights into the online payment processing market. Let's dive in!

Our Clients' Clients' Currency Choices

Twispay is able to process transactions and settle amounts (make payouts) in any of the following currencies:

  • EUR - Euro
  • USD - US Dollar
  • GBP - British Pound
  • CHF - Swiss Franc
  • NOK - Norwegian Crown (Krone)
  • SEK - Swedish Crown (Krona)
  • DKK - Danish Crown (Krone)
  • RON - Romanian Leu

Accept Payments with Twispay

In November 2017, Twispay registered an incredibly balanced ratio of transactions in three main currencies. Check this out:

currency ratio 2017

Sure, the Romanian Leu was ahead by a few small percintiles, but the data shows clearly that our client's clients had fairly equal preferences between the three currencies: Euro, US Dollar, and RON.

In 2018, as Twispay grew its portfolio in Romania and the rest of Europe, the scale was tipped, to say the least:

currency ratio 2018

Approximately two thirds of our client's clients have used Euro to complete their 2018 Black Friday purchases. All in all, Europe, we're here and we're here to stay.

Debit or Credit?

In 2017, the prepaid card was the payment instrument of choice for most Black Friday buyers across all of Twispay's clients' sales:

This November, the debit to credit ratio is rather balanced, by comparison:

Country by Country

The following speaks volumes about the span of Twispay's and Twispay's clients' portfolio growth and business evolution in the last year.

Here are the top countries our clients processed payments from in November 2017:

More than 80% of all payments in November 2017 were processed from Romania, USA, and Italy, with Romanian clients topping the list with 38% of all transactions completed through Twispay.

Process payments in various currencies

A whole year passed by, and the November 2018 numbers are in:

Italian customers have taken the lead in November 2018, and more than 98% of all customers completed their purchases from Italy, Romania, Spain, Germany, Cyprus, France, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

The Cherry on Top

Twispay has grown and diversified its portfolio a lot this year and the numbers do not fail to portray it. I've saved a couple of figures for this conclusion, because they are record breaking figures, which I am fairly certain have not been reached by any other PSP in Romania or in Europe, for that matter:

In November 2018, Twispay processed twelve times more individual transactions and nearly one hundred times more money than in November 2017. Here are two figures you might want to grasp, because they may just make Twispay the fastest growing Payment Service Provider today: 1200% growth in number of completed transactions and 9857% growth in total transactions value YoY.

And on that bombshell, I can only invite you to:
